client trip report

I had the pleasure to escort Winston and Beatrice Dang from Virginia for 3 hours today. We went the San Juoquin Marshes and Upper Newport Bay. The marshes were very productive, highlights included 4 Wilson’s Phalaropes, 1 Virginia Rail, 1 Osprey, 2 Black Skimmers, 2 Wood Ducks. We also had 2 baby Killdeer and a Whimbrel. bell’s vireo

today i went to san joaquin marsh and the back bay to get some habitat shots for the website. i heard a bell’s vireo and some least terns were feeding young but otherwise it was slow. i was their mid-day. the back bay was very quiet nothing to report there

Sooty Tern and Reddish Egret

I was at Bolsa Chica for about an hour today (2:00-3:00) and saw the Sooty Tern in the regular place and also a Reddish Egret where the dike turns to the left after you cross the boardwalk.

Bolsa Chica

Went to Bolsa Chica today and found the Sooty Tern at about 11:30am. It was on the tern island nest to the wooden structure on the island.
